Monks tend to live in the now. Something I try to get a little better at, every day.

I also like to make sure I’m always improving. I do this by focusing on making just one big change at a time.

Here’s where you’ll find my latest focus, my daily life habits, and projects I’m currently working on.

So, what am I up to now?

My current big change:

– The 10,000 steps every day challenge. My fiancé got me a Fitbit this past Christmas. I’ve done a rather mediocre job at getting 10,000 steps in every day (and I consider myself, or so I thought, fairly active). To keep things interesting and me accountable, I’m in the midst of a challenge, and you are all a part of the process. Things are wrapping up now, but there’s never a  bad time to start moving more. All the rest:

-Just finished reading the Lean Muscle Diet again by Lou Schuler & Alan Aragon. I’m using the diet and exercise plan as a framework to recover and build strength after a debilitating 10 month injury. Also, to look a lot better again.

-Working full-time as a test engineer in the energy industry

-Reading every day

-Writing something every day for The Monk Life and other publications

-Helping my fiancé plan for our wedding, including saving money to make it happen

Things coming down the pipe:

– The Wim Hof Method. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and research on Wim, and I’m fascinated by his program. I’d like to start practicing his techniques in several months, after I get my strength back.

There are a few other projects I’d like to eventually start working on, but for now, this is it. I’ll keep this page updated regularly, so that you can always see what I’m up to.
